finally..i have something real cool to share!!

as u know...im in my final year first sem now...which means...im in my last moment of this whole program...as in i have finished all the theory subjects and reports and examssss

yesterday --> 29th

was the submission for my Research Metho...rushing and rush and rushed to cheras...jus a few mins before 6...submitted *phew*

Last report = R&D  <-- finish  :D

my research methodology was about the Extreme Sports and Art..its a Development Center...with all the paintballs, skateboards, luge, half pipe...and the big bAbboon who keeps on telling me he is a X-game expert...true la...expert who paints ppl room pink... XD

so...this stupid idea came up when i was typing my review about Paintball...

we should invite Mr Ariff to a paintball game...you know? 

it could be very very very FUN!! 

along with redzwan and the seniors...exciting...lets get crazzzzzzyyyy!!

lucky for me, its located at Kepong
relatively near to my house compared to Cheras

It used to be a nice jogging spot when i was in secondary
coz my high school...is just walking distance of 30mins?
and get a chance to hang out with friends after the morning jog
normally is shopping time after that lar...*giggles*
so...FRIM kinda leave me good memories during my old days
duh~ im still young...wakaka :P



yet...ashamed to tell
i have never been there for all the Canopy walk thingy
the waterfall picnic thingy & the swimming?
just the jog...and Diana kinda sms-ed us this afternoon
telling that we will be picnic-ing there

so...a lot of first time
and of course...first time to have interim crit out of campus

p.s when got bomb-ed into scraps, just jump into the water

morning's Theory of Architecture class has drove me crazy
there's this ridiculous assignment...a Presentation of theories by various architects
and its in a1 size presentation boards' format
why wont just use Powerpoint? save some trees la please~

then...afternoon class in K303
one of the 'aquariums'
but its not available coz they are replacing the normal tables with drafting tables
and the moving in and out task is not yet done

and mom came back from the night market nearby with bags of durians
we have been asking begging craving for it for quite some time
believe me
this is just the appetizer for the whole durian season
coz the whole family...lovveesss durian...
except for dad...he has bad stomach..hard to digest sort of..
but he does know how to pick the nicest durian ever



average taste..but filling
love the bitter-ness...though its a bit sweet

its the History and Culture 3 site visit today...there was none previously for history subjects
never heard of this place...which an architecture student should..
its a non governmental org which preserves traditional heritage trails of buildings and etc.
i think they r rich la...coz can get this big piece of land somewhere nearby the Golden Triangle...
crazy...

reach there quite early...earlier than i thought
went to the Craft Complex of Malaysia, kinda cool...
saw a Songket finished kinda memo thingy..almost bought it...very very very nice~
went to their cafeteria to get a drink...quite cheap lor
1.20 for teh susu besar...in KL some more...but acc to gary, their food there is okay only

thts the house...which they moved from Kedah

owned by this Penghulu Abu Samad ...which he bought previously from Perak

and then move to Kedah..just the Rumah Ibu...slowly, he add in the other compartments..like playing LEGO

the transition space between the public area (for men) and the private area (for women)

nice patterning on their building/ house's carvings

coz the owner is a chief of several villages

so...whenever he got businesses etc etc...the villagers will gather here...

also

there's a temporary lock-up in the community space (also the chief's office)

they call it the Rumah Ibu coz the measurement unit, is from the mother of the family

found out tht, the Petaling Jaya Trade Centre..is actually kinda cool~~
these daring people...they r so ambitious to have thing environmental friendly building
in fact...the outlook is cool also..besides being squarish~~


i thought tht the screen <- main feature of the trade centre design is just a selection of material, but i didnt expect it to be so conceptual..which the deisgn of woven cloth idea is inserted..
thts something new...rather than a metaphoric bamboo shoot in the middle of no where...dont you think so?

yet...its conceptual..
if its not further explained tht its idea originates from the pattern of woven clothes...
people might just think that the building surface treatment is another creative selection of material by the architect...agree?

then...
sleep lor (coz was checking for any fails)

woke up that 'morning' (still yesterday)
check again...coz wasnt reading which score of which subject
then...start to curse lor...
erm..cursing my bloody own self actually (dun misunderstand)

after i told my mom my result
she didnt really comment a lot
then...like...nothing happened

most ppl will feel like...wow~!
such a blessful day that parents didnt scold for your score
right?

it feels worser when your parents stop to scold you
in fact...my mom never scold me for wad i get in my exams
(even my SPM which is freakin terrible)

its the very beginning of a whole 'bright' year

a long bus trip from UCSI foyer to Seri Iskandar (approx. 4 hrs) has exhausted most of us before we reach the Uni. Tech. Petronas.

Paid a visit there coz it was one of the winner of the Aga Khan Awards 2007 and its designed by Norman Fosters & Partners. <-- International Famous Firm for High Tech Buildings

we walked through their campus, and were so sad to say that they do not have architecture course after they have paid millions to Foster & Partners. think they have civil engineering...
and Norman Foster didn't get paid for designing their toilet i guess...

they gave us a brief introduction of this campus's design and show us some slides + lame jokes...fell asleep
after a tit bits and refreshment session, we continue to the UiTM, approx 10 mins from UTP
went to the APSDA last yr...and met martin's gang from KBU lar...kinda excited to re-meet these ppl
scared of their hostel condition since it was bad back at the APSDA event which is where we are going for the tiga belas
but it ended up quite okay...cleanliness OK...dusty? NOP...spooky? NOP...overall okay la...
but a bit frustrated because we need to buy water from their vending machine ( like those in front of Oldtown Kopitiam back to Cheras)
and NO HOT WATER !! all the cup noodles, maggi, nescafe, milo we brought there were simply useless
tot we could have escape from 'great' foods -- rice + chicken + ulams (marinated veggie) for 3 meals a day consecutive 3 days

the stage that looks like a stage <--- i have to admit, the UiTM ppl did great job

after the montage presentation, we were waiting in front of the foyer but cant go back..
w/o proper reason ooh~! were waiting and feeding the mosquitoes there
went back to hostel around 11, refreshed and tot of coming out to their communal areas to blow...
interior and archi students ma...one day no blow feels like gonna die~! somemore no coffee leh...drastic hormones change
morning call was at 6...i tot got ghost leh~!
someone simply bang at the door like so freakin hard and i tot some dumb heads bang their head on
we set our alarms to wake up at 6:30...darn...cant seep liao
breakfast...then to their Dewan Seri Iskander for opening ceremony...of course..bored la
ppl started to fish...and nodding their heads

then, we were sent to different places for the Ecorace lar...Rakit race lar...Charity work lar...Sketches Competition...tot it will rain but ended up freakin hot day
i went to the charity work painting group with janet n kayapau...coz i was the only one not assigned to anything

3 of us..bored coz there were 40 ppl painting, but only 5 rollers n 5 brushes
we sealed the windows with newspaper lor...but the others just paint it

then...went back to Kg. Aji for lunch..thats better than the lunches n dinners back at UiTM
UCSI rakit ppl (fanson, lawrence, eng, zackry, kahsing, gracia, wai choon)...u guys rock~!
guess wad? they were flipped into the river twice and they still made it to the end..though not the first lar
went back to UiTM around 4 but were standing in the shuttle bus for 10+ mins
then there comes the BBQ dinner...which is rice + 'roasted' chicken 1 pc + sambal + honey dew + syrup
there come the creative performance...the video is with me but..i dont have youtube
try type 'lost fireflies' at youtube..search...its freakin cool im telling u~!
coz i filmed it at the first seat pre-booked 5 months ago..wakakakakaka

there were 4 hosts..i tot i was watching some sort of musical awards
and the stage is so feakin cool~!

the next day...closing ceremony and of course...Prize giving session lar...
we were anticipating in a group...our heart almost beated in the same rhythm
was so scare that u might let our lecturers down coz sooooo many mishaps happened~!
the rakit race fell into water twice...creative performance were told disqualified coz they were considered by someone <-- dunno who not traditional

our baby lecturers..they were a lot more happier than we do~!

a new horizon...for me

we are currently doing our final project, which the previous tutorials has made me a feeling worser and worser throughout the day...

perhaps i should re-introduce my project..
its a gallery for our client, specifically a body art painter, a multi-talented artist from Czech*...
if i'm not mistaken...
but the gorgeous thing about him is that...he's one of the top student from the Beaux Arts Academy in Paris...
well...ppl who study history & culture 2 probably know what that means...
he designs patterns...and try his patterning in different mediums and techniques

oil on canvas, tapestry (cloth weaving), silk print, etching, woodcut, installation etc..
of course...body painting la...

then..its a continuous project...from the very 1st project throughout the semester till the final project...
we have researched based on our artist...and to fit in his/ her features in our designs...
meaning to say that whatever we have designed...its specifically meant for our individual artists only...in a very specific category...

for the body painting part...it turned out kinda unacceptable for me at the beginning coz its preconceived in me...
and the thing is that...the artist actually painted all of these women nude...naked...
which is at a higher level compared to the Asia regions' way of approach...
they normally paint on tight outfit in skin colour...
so...it takes time for me to understand it...

sometimes...his artworks goes kinda sexy and extreme...

here's how the fun part goes...
we are assigned to interpret the artists works and to design a circulatory flow for the gallery after we have visited the galleries around the town

and the objective is..to have something not what they are having in the town
plain walls + nails + planes of art pieces hung up...

and ms. Diana 'suggested' us to browse through the net and books especially to get ideas on the design of our gallery...

i ended up searching clueless...grab simply anything i like...and try to apply the interesting elements into the gallery...after photocopying from books...prints from internet...

well...i kinda understand whats happened to me when mr.Zani kinda reminded me of myself...

he said :' i see something in you, but u ended up putting in everything and too afraid to make decisions.'

for more than 3 projects... i received the same comment " too much"

so...should i be happy now?
working on a simpler piece now...which is totally different from the very first moment designing the layout etc...

i dont know...
sometimes i feel like...there's nothing in my brain...
empty...
its different from empty..its just that...i have these images in me...
but i just cant get it aligned...and the whole design appeared in loose pieces...
get what i mean...

ppl are working on a straight line and develop into waves...
i have got the wave..but i spoilt it with waves of different wave lengths...
get what i mean..i just simpy dont know when and how to stop
pathetic huh?
